Museology offers exhibit services from initial consultation and research through design, fabrication, and installation.

Our exhibits encourage visitors to immerse themselves in the past, explore different perspectives, and ask questions that reveal connections to the present day.

We rely on the uniqueness of a place — its art, culture, environment, history — to help learners develop a sense of place, and discover where they belong.

Exhibit Planning

Exhibit planning begins with listening to you. Together, we’ll discover the concepts and stories that will be the core of the exhibit. We’ll undertake  in-depth research, audience surveys, label writing, formative evaluation, prototyping of interactive exhibit components, or other needs we discover that will help tell your story.

Exhibit Design

Exhibit design includes all the physical and visual details as wide-ranging as accessibility, furniture style, materials choice, color and font palettes, graphic layout, and artifact selection and mounts.

To reach the audience on multiple levels, we employ a blend of visual, aural, and hands-on learning components.

Exhibit Fabrication & Installation

Museology staff has nearly 30 combined years of exhibit fabrication and installation experience. We are well equipped to meet almost all fabrication needs, including:

  • Casework and Cabinetry: Wood, stone, metal, glass, laminate
  • Object mounts: metal tubing, Plexiglas, fabric, stainless steel
  • Fabric arts: Sewing, dying fabric, flag-making, beading
  • Scale models: Houses, topographical maps, model railroads
  • Mannequin Sculpting: Altering proportions and limb positions, re-sculpting faces and hands
